ESSAYS / PUBLIC SCIENTIFIC WRITING

Writing that lives outside the journal.

I have been taught to write passively, watched people cite papers that do not support their claims, and seen how easily scientific recognition can become detached from the work itself. Outside the journal, I can write about those experiences in my own voice. I also write about illness, academic life and what institutions can overlook while everyone is busy measuring success.

NEW / PERSONAL ESSAY

The Life Between Diagnoses

On being one in a million, losing medical school to an illness I barely understood, and spending fifteen years learning more about eosinophils than I ever intended.

A firsthand account of attacks, interrupted schooling, the medical-school path that was lost, and the uneasy distance between a laboratory count and what a patient experiences.

Two essays about writing and AI

One examines the ease of accusing someone of using a machine. The other looks at how institutional writing became so formulaic in the first place.
